Persephone earrings

from $60.00

Oval earrings etched by Gino Schiavone on silver earwires with copper detail. Available in Brass, Copper and Sterling

Persephone, the goddess of Spring. Stolen from her mother, Demeter the Earth Goddess, by Hades and taken to the underworld where she mistakenly ate six pomegranate seeds, which obligated her return to Hades for 6 months every year. As Demeter grieves & “dies” without her daughter for 6 moths, so the earth fades from fall into winter, rejoicing the return of Persephone in the Spring.
